Listeners to the 8 o'clock news on BBC Radio 4 this morning were treated to a hysterical interlude.
Newsreader Charlotte Green got a fit of the giggles, which eventually turned into a full-scale corpse and which seemed to infect the entire studio.
It was much the funniest thing I have heard on Radio 4 for some time.
Ms. Green was reading out a bizarre story about the discovery of what's thought to be the earliest recording of the human voice: a weird and barely audible rendering of "Au Clair de La Lune".
It sounded like an early April Fool, so she could be forgiven for the lapse. Unfortunately the next news item, which she giggled through uncontrollably, was about the death of screenwriter Abby Mann!
These things happen. Let's hope the Corporation has a sense of humour about it.

As soon as we get a new look on-screen the better. I hope the graphics are really slick, I'm sure the designers have thought long and hard about these one's!
I hope they are launching tommorow!

Is the new look imminent as has been reported?

I would consider the here mentioned pathetic giggling of Ms Green appropriate amongst a group of juveniles. However, that this scandalous behaviour occurred during a rather sombre news report, must be regarded in the most serious manner. There should be no place for such sniggering within a newsroom and Ms Green should be sacked immediately and charged with violation of contract.

A better layout of the site would be great, similar to the Sky Sports site perhaps.

Sir
With all due respect to the human side of afore mentioned radio waves, I have been accusotmed to quality and did miss out on such bloomers. No doubt however a repeat will be forthcoming as I enjoy the further delights of the [Artic Monkeys] whom are duly reminded to [Settle for A Draw].

No doubt Sky would take with a pinch of salt, although presenters being human is not an option on Sky News anymore.
*Any sign of the new-look site?
